Our home is constructed of second growth Whidbey Island Douglas Fir peeled right on the property. Every morning you wake up to the color of honey as the sun comes through the sky lights.
The main house is situated at the end of a long drive-way nestled among second growth Douglas Fir, enormous Cedar's and Hemlock. The land is pastured and fenced for horses, llamas, goats, etc. There are extensive herb gardens and a variety of mature deciduous trees. There is also a "secret garden" rimmed with several varieties of bamboo.
There is a huge walk in master closet, a bedroom size laundry room and an enormous pantry with commercial stainless shelving. There are two sun rooms that are perfect for a home office or retreat space that look out on a bamboo garden, pond, and a variety of grasses and willows. There is also an enormous sun porch with skylights that is perfect for an extra bed room, dining room, or den. Both houses are fully wired for DSL and Satellite. Refrigerators, Stoves, and Washers and Dryers stay with both houses.
The guest bath on the main floor has a claw foot slipper bath sitting on a stone floor.
The kitchen is a real country kitchen; huge with a great gathering space. Stainless cabinets and appliances with an organic butcher block counter finished with organic Herbal Oil. The Gourmet stove has propane burners and electric ovens. Includes a walk-in pantry as big as a bedroom!

The upstairs master bath has a huge soaking tub and hand-made ceramic sink but local artist Peter Wolf.
The custom built 3800 square foot log home and the 1500+ square foot guest cabin are built with environmentally friendly materials including denim insulation, marmoleum, stone, wood, and tile floors, non-toxic adhesives and finishes. There is an 400+ sq. ft. shop wired with 220 power for all of your projects, a large green house, barn, and chicken coop. Property is fenced pasture and second growth forest… Some trees more than 100 years old. The main house is heated with an enormous wood stove using pellets or cord wood as well as ceramic electric wall heaters and is also plumbed for propane heat. The tankless hot water heater is a Rinnai Continuum fueled by propane. Enormous laundry/storage room comes with Kenmore appliances. Floors are maple, stone, tile and marmoleum. Heated 300+ square foot enclosed porch serves as extra sleeping space, dining room, or den. The guest cabin has a wood stove and electric ceramic wall heaters. Floors are Eucalyptus, Pine, Doug Fir, and Marmoleum. Bath room features a Claw foot bath tub and solid pine cabinets. Upstairs is a divided loft with access to the second level deck and sleeps 6 comfortably.
